The Donation Process
A step-by-step walkthrough of what happens during your donation visit
When you arrive, you'll register and complete a confidential health history questionnaire. Our staff will check your temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and hemoglobin levels.
Helpful Tips:
- Bring a valid ID
- Know your medical history
- List any medications you're taking
You'll be seated comfortably while a trained phlebotomist collects your donation. The actual blood draw takes only 8-10 minutes. You can relax, read, or watch videos during this time.
Helpful Tips:
- Relax and breathe normally
- Squeeze a stress ball if provided
- Let staff know if you feel uncomfortable
After donating, you'll rest for 10-15 minutes while enjoying snacks and drinks. This helps your body recover and ensures you feel well before leaving.
Helpful Tips:
- Drink plenty of fluids
- Eat the provided snacks
- Rest until you feel ready to leave
Within 24-48 hours, you'll receive updates about where your blood was used. Track your donations, earn badges, and see the lives you've helped save through your dashboard.
Helpful Tips:
- Check your email for updates
- Log in to view your impact
